Greg Packer
Greg packer began dj-ing in the summer of 1989 whist still living in Northampton England , due to an intense passion for collecting vinyl (over 1000 records)and going through the whole breakdance hip hop era from the early 80’s he decided to take things to the next level and purchase some decks and a mixer.
Greg was mixing hip hop mainly but was also collecting early house and soul records as well , greg then emigrated to Australia with his family shortly after and entered the west Australian dmc’s in 1991 . Greg came first place and held the title of west Australian mixing champ for 2 years in a row after defending his title again in 1992. Greg started to dj in perth nightclubs in 1990 mixing early house and techno with his hip hop and early breaks , he followed through the years constantly sticking to his guns and always playing the sound of uk hardcore/breakbeat and saw it through the jungle / ragga /darkside / jump up era to the now sounds of drum & bass. Greg took time out in the mid 90’s to travel back to England and was fortunate to play at events such as ‘Dance Planet’ alongside big DJ’s such as carl cox & slipmatt. Greg then returned to perth and collected many awards at the west Australian dance music awards such as ‘ best rave DJ 1994 , best mixer 1995 , best drum & bass DJ 1996 and every year onwards until 2002’ Greg was also West Australia’s first dj to play drum & bass and the first Dj to mix live on Australia’s nationwide radio station JJJ fm back in 1994 .
Greg also played at Perth’s first ever rave / club events supporting the first visting internationals to be imported to Australia , this was in 1991 when greg supported dj’s grooverider , sasha , carl cox , LTJ Bukem , prodigy on there first ever Australian visits.

Croatia , Switzerland , Norway & Bratislava to name a few.
In 1998 Greg decided to take things to the next level and invest in a studio and start to make his own music , after testing his music to solid dance floors and getting positive reactions he then decided to give his music to visiting international djs from time to time . after some encouragement from long time friend LTJ Bukem he started sending demo CD’s to various record labels . Carl Collins from Hardleaders was the first to sign one of gregs tracks ‘we hear drumz’ in 2001 shortly after Good Looking frontman ‘LTJ Bukem’ took the second track ‘touch me’ and John B took the 3rd ‘you’re the one / wake up’ for his newly set up label ‘tangent’
Greg was well and truly on his way by now and went on to release music on labels such as ‘renegade recordings , 31 records , new identity , good looking records , defunked , tangent , phuturistic bluez & phuturo (usa)
Greg set up a record label in 2000 and released 2 cd only compilations of his first creations which were much darker and moodier ,these were distributed in Australia only along with a limited edition white label press of 500 copies of a tune called (moments / crossroads) that followed.
