Spectrasoul

SpectraSoul is the alias of Brighton duo Jack Stevens and Dave Kennett, who although have only been producing together for less than a year, show what can happen when two creative minds combine in the studio.

Having both produced separately for a number of years, and sharing their music between themselves, it seemed to be a natural progression to begin working together to develop their own style. It was not long before the ideas began to flow. With Daves sample creativity and perfectionist attitude, and Jacks quick and efficient ear for a riff, it wasnt long before they caught the attention of theyre peers.

With Dave being involved in the scene from all angles since the early nineties, both DJing and Promoting, he watched the scene grow & mature before eventually moving to Production. Being part of the Repercussion DJs has allowed Dave to perform in such countries as Germany, France and Belgium, whilst maintaining his bookings throughout the UK.

After finding a love for music production in his school years, and learning the required technical skills and abilities, Jack progressed to the DJ side of things. After receiving bookings throughout Brighton and becoming actively involved in his local drum and bass scene, Jack has used these opportunities to spread his music to people he may not have otherwise known.

Taking inspiration from a diverse range of musical influences, spanning Soul to Hip Hop, and even World Music to Cinematic grooves, the duo explore the realms of sample-based production with open-minds, creating an exciting blend of soul-fuelled sounds & organically grooved beats that shine through. Musicality plays a pivotal part of the SpectraSoul sound, combining organic musical elements with low end frequencies to bridge the gap between creative music and up-front dance floor beats. This is a key aspect of the duos sound.

SpectraSoul provide energetic DJ sets showcasing the scenes freshest and most progressive tunes; drawing music from across the drum and bass spectrum. Expect a wide range of choice dub-plates from the likes of Commix, Logistics, Alix Perez, Icicle, D-Bridge, Break, Silent Witness, Friction, and of course the duos own music.

With solid support from Commix, Friction, Logistics, Rohan Bassbin, Alix Perez, Flight,Big Bud and Fabio, Spectrasoul look set to break the scene.
