Basic Operations

Drum and bass thrives off of innovation. With that in mind Basic Operations will always be on the forefront of Drum and Bass music. The duo of Nathan Hayes (Syrus) and Kevin Jekel (Focus) have no set boundaries and will not be pigeon holed in any certain style of drum and bass, they try to innovate with in the genre as a whole.

The combination of Nathan (Syrus) and Kevin (Focus) boils down to two good friends with positive personas and strong individual talents, that when used together make something great. Nathan is the creative backbone to which Basic Operations stands. He has been musically trained since his early childhood and has been writing music for almost a decade. Kevin has made a name for himself with his ear for music, Djing, and business sense in promotions in the last decade as well.

Basic Operations credits combined now include over 20 signed and licensed pieces including major label distributed CD's to multiple vinyl releases and TV and media ads. Tracks have appeared on CD Compilations such as Dieselboys “The Dungeon Masters Guide”, LTJ Bukems “Logical Progression 10” and Renegade Recordings "Renegades of Funk Vol 3". Esteemed labels that have acquired music have been Renegade, Trouble On Vinyl, Human, Freak, Advanced, Phuturo, and Nemcron.

Forth coming releases and remixes are set to drop on Metalheadz, C.I.A, Innerground, Commercial Suicide, Breakbeat Science, Habit/Rehab, Blindside, and Cymbalism. As well as an EP on Renegade Recordings and later this year working with Photek and the TEKDBZ team. 2004 has proven to be the duos breakthrough year and now going into 2005 its evident this year will be epic.
